Stage 3 of the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire passes through the Penistone area, an event not to be missed.

With 223 world-class men and women riders, over 2 million roadside spectators are expected to see the 3 stages; it will be broadcast live on TV to 178 territories with 553 accredited journalists covering the race.

The original Tour de France route passed through the spectacular Langsett landscape which is ideal walking country for all abilities - the Stockbridge Walkers are Welcome group have even put together a walk which follows the route from Langsett to Bradfield. Read more >>

Public transport to Penistone is regular and there are bus routes to Holmfirth, Denby Dale, Cawthorne and Barnsley. Train also run to Denby Dale and Barnsley. See for timetables.
