The highest market town in the county and one of the best-kept secrets in Yorkshire South and the Pennines, Penistone deserves close investigation to reveal its hidden treasures.
There’s something here for everybody and although ideal for day trips to attractions such as the Trans Pennine Trail or the annual Penistone Show, the wide range of accommodation available in the Penistone area also means we're perfectly located to use as a base for longer stays: the M1 is only 15 minutes by car so Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Huddersfield & Leeds, with Manchester and Bradford, home of the National Museum of Film & Photography, are all within easy reach for a day trip.
So come & share all of this with us, experiencing a rural way of life within reach of the big city attractions.
We've added an interactive map of the area which we hope you'll find useful.
More features and information will be added soon which will provide a snapshot of the area in
a quick and easy to digest form. Click here for the map.

Opera Brava is Britain's leading outdoor opera touring company. Now in its 21st year, the company presents a wonderful production of Mozart's, 'The Marriage of Figaro', in the wonderful Wentworth Castle Gardens. Probably the most popular and perfect opera - a day in the life of Figaro. A joyful farce in which we witness the foibles and intrigues used to reveal the indiscretions of a philandering nobleman, Count Almaviva. Opera Brava has a track record for delivering spirited outdoor opera without compromising its musical values. With a setting this splendid, and an opera as irresistible as Figaro, that's really all you need for an entertaining night out!
