The highest market town in the county and one of the best-kept secrets in Yorkshire South and the Pennines, Penistone deserves close investigation to reveal its hidden treasures.
There’s something here for everybody and although ideal for day trips to attractions such as the Trans Pennine Trail or the annual Penistone Show, the wide range of accommodation available in the Penistone area also means we're perfectly located to use as a base for longer stays: the M1 is only 15 minutes by car so Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Huddersfield & Leeds, with Manchester and Bradford, home of the National Museum of Film & Photography, are all within easy reach for a day trip.
So come & share all of this with us, experiencing a rural way of life within reach of the big city attractions.
We've just added an interactive map of the area which we hope you'll find useful.
Over the next few weeks other features and information will be added to it which will provide a snapshot of the area in a quick and easy to digest form.
If you'd like to see anything in particular added to this section (or indeed, any other
section of the site) then please let us know. You can write to us at the address on the contact page.
