Located in the centre of Penistone near to the Peak District National Park, Holmfirth and Sheffield, our location is ideal for students attending Lavender International courses (just a 5 minute walk away).

Whether attending a local celebration with family or friends, or exploring Penistone and its surrounding villages and towns, Lyndene is the perfect place for your stay.  Due to our ideal location, many of our guests enjoy visits into the Peak District National Park, day trips to Holmfirth, Sheffield, Manchester or Leeds during their stay.  If it’s your first time in Penistone, we can provide you with information, on all the best things to see and do.

Our en-suite rooms are quiet and beautifully presented.  The rooms have lovely, comfortable beds, quality bed linen, a selection of pillows, soft towels, a flat screen TV with freeview channels, solid oak furniture, tea and coffee making facilities and hair dryers.

Our en-suite bathrooms have full-size baths and showers and under-floor heating.  All our rooms have free unlimited wifi.  An iron and ironing board is available on request.

We have recently completed a full renovation, finished to a high standard.  Lyndene is fitted with quality furnishings and we have retained many Victorian features of the property, which were first installed in the 1880s. 

We are open for short or long-term stays, all year round.

By Road:

Map Reference: SE 246029

Leave the M1 at Junction 37 - Take the A628 towards Manchester – Continue for several miles towards Penistone – Go under a railway viaduct – Carry on for half a mile to some small traffic lights – At the lights, turn left – Go underneath a bridge and turn left at a small roundabout – Continue through the town – Just after a small library on the left, turn left into Ward Street – Lyndene is located on the right.

By Train

The nearest station is Penistone.

Exit the train station onto the main road – turn left onto Shrewsbury Road, and walk past the Penistone Paramount Cinema in the left and the large church on the right – At the top of the road, turn left – Continue walking past the small shops, until you reach the Penistone library – Just after the library, turn left onto Ward Street – Lyndene is located on the right.
