Cycling
The Trans-Pennine Trail is a very safe place for all to cycle in the area.
Being a converted railway track, it is relatively level, and a great place for the less able to gain confidence in riding and bike handling skills.
There is an excellent cycle sale & repair shop in Springvale, Lex's Cycles, adjacent to the trail - useful to know when you've had that unexpected puncture.
This area has been the host to regular cycle events such as the Milk Race and Tour of Britain, as it offers a wide variety of terrain.
